Shony was born in Gauteng, Soweto, and then grew up in Alexandra Township. His real name is Isaac Shoni Raselabe. He is a House music DJ/producer, an engineering student, and good at what he does. He finished his high school career at Highlands North Boys' High School where he started playing at school functions and around Alexandra and Soweto back in 2009. Today he is playing in and outside Johannesburg where his name continues to grow as a brand. 

After seven years, he has been behind the decks, and three years in the production of Music. Shony has been featured in numerous reputable venues in Johannesburg, the likes of Taboo, Cacoon, Liquid Chef, Vacca Matta, Bar 9, Stones, Ko’ Spotong, Stoep 15, Chaf Pozi just to name a few. Shony has played alongside the most recognizable names in the game and biggest visitors, the likes of Vinni Da Vinci, Christos, Oskido, Black Coffee, Euphonik, Lulo Café, Liquideep, Mi Casa, C9ine,  Glen Lewis, UPZ Avi Elman (Israel), Ralf Gum (Germany),  Nick Holder (Canada), QB Smith (International), Infinite Boys, Da Capo, Just Mo, Major League, Switch, Giggs Superstar, Hudson, Sol Phenduka, Fresca, Miggs, Uhuru, and others. He constantly breaks new musical grounds and educates his crowd. Shony’s talent have been recognized by household names in the music industry, and he has worked with the likes of Infinite Boys, Velvet Suite Lounge, Garth Brown, Gino Brown, and Gash just to name a few.  

Shony is the man behind a house music movement which was established early in 2013. Elements of House, in which the movement was hosted every first Saturday of every month at a beautiful musical venue, in which featured Djs/Producers/Band compile the latest stunning house materials and also get an opportunity of show casing their skills in House music scene, inspired by a podcast, Deeper Shade of House hosted by an international Dj/ Producer/ Remixer/ Record label owner Lars Behrenroth and by a radio show named The Urban Beat which is a dance show on Metro fm hosted by Zeal, Christos and Vinny Da Vinci.   

Also being part of the huge annual event titled “In-Yard X-mas Experience” that marks the calendar in Alexandra’s history as the biggest social event around Christmas. The event is a pure Christmas celebration party event that embraces and cheers the promotion on brands that are on the mark in entertainment industry and  raises funds for organizations that are in need. The magnitude of this event is big and it has happened for the past 6 years. Shony is part of the organizing committee of the In-Yard Experience and with his team has taken the initiative to organize such an event. The event takes place as a celebration of Christmas.   

His background and love for Music has helped him in being what he is today. His parents being collectors of old time music records and also his brother owning a record shop/label Open House Records based in Johannesburg, in which he is signed under. His love for music has helped him to be raising talent in the house music scene.
